When I Learn To Fly

I carried you for five months, you see...
Then, God decided to take you from me.
It was the medication I took, which made me lose you, but not a day goes by...
That I do not think of you and feel sad and blue, and sometimes cry.
In a haze of what seemed like a dream, I saw you in my Father's arms...
It was then, I knew, you were free from harm.
You are in a better place than me.
For you are in Heaven, don't you see...
Patiently waiting and watching to see my fate...
'Til we see each other, my son...
You run and play and have lots of fun...
I wish I could have held and seen you that awful day...
But the doctor wouldn't listen to what I had to say.
I cry everyday cause I miss you so much...
I almost gave the doctor a punch!
You are in white wings and lace...
Lord, how I wish I could have seen your sweet little face!
But I will see you some day...
When I learn to fly...
'Til that day, my little angel,
Be happy in the sky.
I love you with all my heart...
I wish we didn't have to be apart.
Be good, my son...
Play with Pawpaw
And have lots of fun!
I love you, Momma
